Master of Science in Information Studies

I will graduate from The University of Texas at Austin with an endorsement of specialization in Collections Management and Preservation and Leadership, Management, and Governance in May 2023.

Post-Custodial Archives and Digital Preservation Graduate Research Assistant

In this position at the Benson Latin American Collection and UT Libraries Digital Stewardship Division, I wrote descriptive metadata according MODS standards for newspapers and oral histories, as well as performing metadata quality control. I also digitized a variety of print, photographic, and audiovisual materials using CaptureOne and DT Atom software.

University Archives - Senior Student Associate

I processed collections at the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History relating to the University of Texas, including updating EAD fidning aids that are available on Texas Archival Resources Online. I utilized ArchivesSpace to create finding aids and addressed preservation concerns. I also assisted researchers with reference questions.

Student Employee

At the University of Iowa Special Collections and Archives, I used ArchivesSpace to process the Keating DuGarm Comics and Social Documents collections at the item level. I retrieved and re-shelved patron requests utilizing Aeon and Past Perfect software and practice careful handling of rare and valubale matererials. I also conducted a collection management project of the Vander Maas Railroadiana Collection by reboxing and relabeling the physical collection and updating the digital finding aid.

Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish

I graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in English with honors and Spanish. My English studies focused on Mediveal and Early Modern Literature and my undergraduate honors project was titled Manuscript Punctuation in Editions of the Wanderer which explored how different interpretations of Old English punctuation changed the meaning of the elegy. For Spanish, I focused on Peninsular and Latin American literature and second language adquisition. My final research projects focused on creating linguistically inclusive spaces.

Summer Reading Intern

At the Sibley Public Library I assisted with daily story hours, crafts, and activities for 5-30 school-aged children, created fliers, displays, and decorations to promote summer reading activities, and led the Friday Flick Program, a free movie on Friday mornings, for 20+ patrons. I also assisted with general circulation tasks, such as check-in/check-out materials with Atriuum software, item shelving, and following quarantine protocols.
